Pakistan rejects hostile Indian statements, calls for resolution of Kashmir dispute

MOFA spokesperson terms remarks as ‘deeply troubling’ and ‘divorced from reality’

Pakistan has strongly condemned recent antagonistic remarks made by Indian leaders, including those delivered in Bihar, and statements from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, calling them “deeply troubling” and “divorced from reality.”

In response to media queries on 29 May 2025, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the Indian leadership’s rhetoric reflects a mindset that prioritizes hostility over peace and regional stability.

“Any attempt to portray Pakistan as the source of regional instability ignores the facts,” the spokesperson stated. “The international community is fully aware of India’s record of aggressive behaviour and documented support for terrorist activities within Pakistan. These realities cannot be obscured by hollow narratives or diversionary tactics.”

Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding position, the spokesperson emphasized that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains the central issue threatening peace in South Asia. “Pakistan will continue to advocate for a just and lasting resolution to the Kashmir issue, in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” the statement read.

The spokesperson warned that ignoring the core issue of Kashmir would only perpetuate mistrust and confrontation in the region.

Recent developments, the spokesperson added, have once again demonstrated the futility of “jingoism and coercion.” India, the statement noted, “cannot and will not achieve its objectives through threats, misrepresentation, or use of force.”
