Deacon Frey is ready to “create his own path,” as he puts it.
Deacon Frey, who had been stepping in for his late father Glenn Frey, announced his departure from the Eagles in a statement on their official website on Wednesday.
“After some weeks of thought, Deacon Frey thinks it is time for him to establish his own path,” the statement started. “We entirely understand and support him in whatever endeavours he chooses to pursue in the next years.”
“After his father’s death, Deacon, at the age of 24, performed an astonishing thing by jumping from relative anonymity into the very public arena of his father’s long distinguished career,” the article read. We thank Deacon for his outstanding achievements and wish him luck as he pursues his goals.”
“Deacon’s Eagles Family will always be here to surround him with love, support, and kindness, and if he so wishes, he is always welcome to join us onstage at any future concerts,” the statement added. We hope Deacon’s admirers will join us in wishing him the best as he moves on in his career.”
