The verdict of the ECP has no bearing on the Punjab government.

Following the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to de-seat 25 PTI dissident members, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the decision had no bearing on the Punjab government.

The information minister slammed the PTI, claiming that the party’s chairman, Imran Khan, had previously hurled insults at the commission and instructed his supporters to destroy its office, but now, after receiving a ruling in his party’s favor, he is all praise for the ECP.

She made it clear that the decision was made “specifically for the 25 dissident PTI members.”
