Journalist Khurram Baig passes away from Covid-19

KARACHI: Journalist Mirza Khurram Baig, popularly known as KB, has passed away due to Covid-19 related complications. He was 49 years old.

KB served as the business editor at The Express Tribune from the publication’s launch till 2013. Before that, he was associated with Dawn News TV, then an English language channel. KB started his journalistic career in print and also served as the Karachi editor of The News.

Colleagues who knew him at his publication remember him fondly while mourning his untimely passing. “He was always helpful and humble and patient with the sub-editors,” recalled Shahzeb Ahmed, who worked with him at The Express Tribune. For the last two years, he had been working in the communications department at K-Electric. KB was also known for his writing on not only business and sports but also technology and data. He was a fitness enthusiast and the table tennis champion at the Karachi Press Club.
