Mum who didn’t want to spend £5k on new driveway revamps tarmac with £20 paste

A woman who didn’t fancy forking out thousands to resurface her driveway has found a much cheaper way of transforming it.

Over the years, her once jet black tarmac had dried and faded over time but she was put off the cost of having it redone professionally after experts quoted her a whopping £5,500.

After looking for a cheaper alternative, she decided to give tarmac restorer a try, which costs less than £20 for a five-litre bottle.

The mum shared her efforts to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where it racked up more thousands of likes.

She wrote: “Didn’t want to spend a lot of money on our driveway so instead of resurfacing we decided to give tarmac restore a go and so glad we did.

“Costing us around £120 for this area.”

In the post, the woman explained how she used a brush and a large roller on the drive, adding: “Bought a large masonry brush and [a] long pile roller with a handle and painted away.

“Some of our tarmac was rough so we used the brush but most went on quite happily with the roller.

“Just use a brush to do the cutting in before you start then go for it with the roller.

“In the middle of doing ours too, it’s fab my neighbours thought I’d had new tarmac.”

People were left open-mouthed at her hard work, and lavished her with praise for highlighting the cheaper alternative, which can be found here.

After seeing the transformation, the woman then decided to do the same round the back.

Since it was shared on the popular Facebook group, fans rushed to share their admiration, with one saying: “Looks brand new.”

Another gushed: “Gosh this looks brilliant.”

A third said: “Looks amazing. Would never have thought it would work as well as that!”

While another added: “Looks great makes a massive difference.”
