Bol News reported on Saturday that the first consignment of vaccination for lumpy skin disease had arrived in Karachi from Turkey.

Lumpy skin disease is an infectious, eruptive, and sometimes lethal disease of cattle that causes nodules on the skin and other body parts.

To tackle the lumpy skin disorder, the Sindh government sought a Turkish business for four million pills.

The remaining pills will arrive in Karachi next week. One million doses of the vaccine were imported from Turkey in the first batch.

Dow University of Health Sciences and Sindh Livestock Department established a collaboration in March to develop a lumpy skin condition vaccine.

The decision was applauded by the Meat Merchants Association.
