The Supreme Court will not be swayed by criticism.
On Thursday, Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial stated that the Supreme Court (SC) will not be influenced by criticism as long as people follow the Constitution.
During the hearing of the presidential referral seeking an interpretation of Article 63, the CJP made his remarks (A). He went on to say that the Supreme Court represents the Constitution’s supremacy.
“The courts are exposed to criticisms since the court’s mission is to do justice to everyone,” Justice Bandial said, adding that despite the criticism, the court will continue to serve its function.
Senator Raza Rabbani, who presented arguments in court during the hearing, stated the constitutional office.
He went on to say that hostile criticism of democratic institutions leads to fascism in the country.
