A Nottingham Forest supporter has been barred from attending any football event.

Season ticket holder Robert Biggs, 30, pled guilty today to assault causing actual bodily harm in connection with the ambush that required stitches for the striker.

Source filmed the yob running full speed towards Sharp only seconds after Forest won the Championship play-off semi-final 3-2 on penalties on Tuesday.

With a nasty headbutt, he sent the 36-year-old falling backwards to the ground at the City Ground, requiring stitches.

The football fan, along with thousands of other spectators in the stadium, was “swept away in the moment,” according to Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today.

In addition, he was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison and a 10-year football ban for the invasion.

He must also give Sharp £500 in compensation, a victim surcharge of £128, and costs of £85.

Biggs, a £55,000-a-year electrical engineer, surrendered to police after video of the attack went viral.

Sharp, who had been watching the festivities from the sidelines, required medical care, including four sutures to the mouth, according to a club official.

A comprehensive police investigation was swiftly initiated, and Biggs, from Derbyshire, was charged yesterday.
