Uber driver enraged over £39’scam’ fee

Uber driver enraged over £39’scam’ fee for picking off passengers at Leeds Bradford Airport.

An irate Uber driver has blasted Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) after being charged £39 for taking off passengers and returning less than an hour later.

The substantial fine was imposed on Faraz Khan, 36, on May 20 after three journeys to the airport, leaving him out of pocket.

According to source, he was issued with a recirculation charge, which means vehicles cannot return to the airport within an hour of leaving, and father-of-two Faraz has accused LBA of operating a fraud.

“The free one-hour car park at Leeds Bradford Airport is a fraud — I took three trips to the airport,” he remarked.

“I let go of the rider.”

“Before the recirculation charge, vehicles would loop indefinitely, limiting access to the facility for all passengers.” The recirculation fee is prominently displayed upon entering the One Hour Free Zone and within the vehicle park.

“Vehicles may return to the One Hour Free Zone one hour after departing.”
