After purchasing a used sofa on Craigslist, a woman discovers a £28,000 treasure.

A woman discovered approximately £28,000 stuffed in a sofa she purchased on Craigslist.

Vicky Umodu of Colton, California, discovered the cash wads inside one of the cushions after discovering the set of sofas while looking for furniture to fill her new home.

Umodo was overjoyed to discover them.

“I scrolled down and saw free items,” Umodu explained.

“So I clicked on it, and the first thing that appeared was this family who wanted to give away a sofa and everything in their bedroom set. I thought it might be a gimmick, so I called them.”

It was true – the sellers, unaware of the furniture’s hidden cargo of cash, were giving away the sofas for free following the death of a loved one and the clearing out of their home.

“I assumed it was a heat pad,” she explained. When Umodo unzipped the cushion, she discovered several large bank deposit envelopes jam-packed with cash, much of it in the form of $100 bills. “Come, come, come! I was just telling my son. This is money, I screamed! I need to contact him “Umodo stated. She made the decision to return all of the money to the family without hesitation.
