Boris Johnson was booed as he arrived for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee service today.

Crowds could be heard booing and whistling as the Prime Minister and his wife Carrie walked up the steps to St Paul’s Cathedral, though some onlookers cheered.

“The Prime Minister arrives with his wife”. There is a lot of booing going on. A substantial sum.”

“We have not heard that for any other VIP guests,” they added.

“The Prime Minister arriving with wife Carrie at St Paul’s Cathedral for the Platinum Thanksgiving Service is booed by some in the crowd,” said broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire.

Mr Johnson will read from the New Testament, and members of his Cabinet, as well as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, first ministers of the devolved governments, and former prime ministers, will be in attendance.

Cheers greeted Prince Harry and Meghan as they arrived, dressed in cream gowns and matching hats. One audience member, however, yelled at the pair, “I don’t know how you’ve got the nerve to show up.”

As they were led to their seats next to other members of the royal family, the couple was seen holding hands.
