Exercising in the morning aids women burn more body fat.
The difference between the sexes is stark, with men needing to work up a sweat in the evenings to lose weight.
According to a new US study, exercising in the morning helps women burn more body fat.
Men, on the other hand, must work up a sweat in the evenings to lose weight.
According to the report, the difference between the sexes is quite stark, with different biological clocks, sleep-wake cycles, and hormones all thought to play a role.
The study put 30 men and 26 women, ages 25 to 55, through a 12-week fitness programme and tracked their progress.
One group worked out for an hour before 8.30 a.m.
The researchers then tested everyone’s blood pressure, body fat, and strength, and they discovered significant differences in the best exercise times for men and women.
Reassuringly, no matter what time they exercised, all participants improved their health, according to lead study author Dr Paul Arcerio, who told: “The best time for exercise is the best time you can do it and fit it into your schedule.”
According to the findings, women who want to lose abdominal fat should exercise in the morning, but if they want to improve upper body muscle strength as well as their overall mood, they should exercise in the evening.
Interestingly, the time of day to exercise made less of a difference for the men, who improved their strength both in the morning and at night.
