Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira’s belongings have been discovered by police.

Personal items belonging to missing UK journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira have been discovered by Brazilian police.

Mr Phillips’ boots and a backpack containing clothes are among the items, as are Mr Pereira’s health ID card, a flip-flop, black trousers, and boots.

On June 5, the pair went missing while travelling by boat on a reporting trip in a remote Amazon rainforest.

The police discovered possible human remains last week.

The “organic material” discovered in a river near the town of Atalaia do Norte has been analyzed by experts.

Blood traces discovered on a boat belonging to an arrested fisherman are also being tested.

In the last 24 hours, another boat belonging to the suspect was also discovered.

According to indigenous groups, both men have faced threats as a result of their work in the region, which has seen illegal fishing, logging, mining, and drug trafficking.

Mr Pereira, 41, and Mr Phillips, 57, both have extensive travel experience and have written. They were said to have a new boat and plenty of fuel.
