Brad Pitt awarded joint custody of children with Angelina Jolie after legal battle
Brad Pitt has been granted joint custody of his children with Angelina Jolie.
The separated couple are parents to Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12.
Judge Ouderkirk is claimed to have made his thoughts clear in a lengthy ruling, following months of witness testimony.
They included child services professionals who interviewed the Jolie-Pitt children and others who have been around the family.
A source told the New York Post: “There was a significant change made in the custody agreements based on an extremely detailed decision made by the judge.
“Brad was just trying to have more time with his kids.”
The source added: “This trial lasted for several months and there were a f*** ton of witnesses, experts, therapists and other people who have been with the kids and around them, and the decision was based on this.”
Sources claimed the judge had made a “tentative decision,” adding that Jolie is continuing her legal fight.
“Joint custody is not the issue that Angelina objects to, there were other issues of concern, but the court proceedings are closed and sealed,” the insider said.
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 just two years after she married Pitt at Chateau Miraval in France, in an intimate ceremony where all their children were invited to play a part.
The pair initially met while filming movie Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004 where they played a married couple hiding the fact they were both trained assassins.
Pitt was previously married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston. The actors announced their split to fans in 2005.
