AR Rahman breaks silence on separation from wife Saira Banu
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has addressed the separation from his wife, Saira Banu, after nearly three decades of marriage.
The couple, who tied the knot on March 12, 1995, announced their decision to part ways on November 20, with Rahman reflecting on the emotional toll of the split.
“We had hoped to reach 30 years of marriage, but everything in this world has an end, unseen by anyone. Even the throne of God can tremble under the weight of broken hearts,” Rahman wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The composer, known for his timeless hits such as Jai Ho and Dil Se, described the separation as “shattering” but expressed gratitude for the support and understanding shown by friends and well-wishers.
Rahman’s message highlighted the emotional complexity of the situation, acknowledging that the pain of broken hearts is something beyond anyone’s control. “While we are trying to navigate through this difficult time, shattered pieces cannot be put back together,” he added, thanking the public for respecting their privacy.
