New Names Emerge – PM Shehbaz weighs cabinet reshuffle

The federal government is considering a major reshuffle and expansion of the federal cabinet, with several new faces expected to be inducted and changes likely to be made to the portfolios of existing ministers, according to sources.

The proposed changes are part of a broader plan that also includes restructuring ministries by merging some federal divisions, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expected to make the final decision after consulting the party leadership.

According to sources, different names are being considered for inclusion as federal ministers and ministers of state.

Those reportedly under consideration include Noushin Iftikhar, Daniyal Chaudhry, Shahzeb Durrani, and Nasir Butt. Sources also said that Manzoor Kakar, Abid Sher Ali, Faisal Sabzwari, and Niaz Amir are among those expected to become part of the expanded federal cabinet.

In addition, the names of Babar Nawaz and Usman Owaisi are also being considered for possible induction into the cabinet.

Portfolios of current ministers may change

Alongside the proposed expansion, the government is also reviewing the portfolios of several current federal ministers, sources said.

The proposal includes reassigning responsibilities to some ministers as part of the planned cabinet reshuffle. Sources further revealed that the government is considering reorganizing ministries by merging certain federal divisions.

The move is aimed at restructuring the administrative setup, although no official details have yet been released regarding which divisions could be merged.
