‘My girlfriend thinks my tattoo is for her – I don’t have the heart to tell her the truth’
A man has been urged to “come clean as soon as possible” after he lied to his girlfriend about the true meaning of his tattoo.
He says his partner has always been really into tattoos and has always encouraged him to get one, but he wanted to wait for something that was “truly meaningful” to him.
As a huge American football fan, he has always admired the player Tom Brady and when the quarterback picked up his seventh Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, he decided he had found a cause worthy of getting inked.
The man had the number 12 tattooed on his arm in honour of the number Brady has worn his entire career, and coloured it blue as a nod to the team where he spent 20 years, the New England Patriots.
When he got home from the studio, he immediately went to show his girlfriend the tattoo, explaining that he had “finally found something meaningful enough to me”.
