On a very important day for the pair, the Royal Family Twitter account, which represents the sovereign and other working royals who don’t have their own personal social media profile, gave a modest tribute to Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William. The royal couple’s 11th wedding anniversary was commemorated on the royal couple’s social media account.

Rather than creating a new post, however, it retweeted a message from Westminster Abbey’s Twitter account.

“Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary today!” the Abbey’s social media staff wrote.

On this day in 2011, Their Royal Highnesses wedded in Westminster Abbey.”

Kate and Prince William married on April 29, 2011 in Westminster Abbey in front of almost 1,900 guests, as stated in this tweet.

The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, were among them.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge usually have a private celebration on their wedding day.

Kensington Palace issued two fresh portraits last year to commemorate the pair’s first decade as a married couple, which replicated the photos shot in 2010 to announce the couple’s engagement.

Kate and William also shared a video that was shot on a beach near their Norfolk home.

In the video, the couple can be seen sitting in front of a campfire with their three children, roasting marshmallows and running around on the beach with them.

The Duke and Duchess met at St Andrews University in 2001, where they were both pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Art History.
