Cheers for Meghan and Harry outstrip boos as they join the royals at the Jubilee service.
On the second day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were applauded as they held hands and joined the rest of the Royal Family for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
It is the first time the couple has appeared in public with the rest of the Firm since leaving the monarchy for a new life in the United States two years ago.
The smiling couple was met with boos as they entered the cathedral, but by the time they were greeted at the west door by the Dean of St Paul’s, cheers could be heard.
They spoke with the senior cleric for a few minutes before entering the place of worship and greeting the long line of clergy attending today’s Thanksgiving service.
Harry paused for a few moments to speak with the Archbishop of York, who will deliver the sermon and is expected to praise the Queen’s 70-year reign.
The couple sat in the second row of the congregation, alongside Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands, and Lady Sarah Chatto, the daughter of Prince Charles.
