Instalment certificates for NHS recommendations can save you hundreds of dollars.
In the United Kingdom, the standard prescription charge per item is £9.35, making a long-term medical prescription an expensive necessity for some. If you fall into this category, purchasing an NHS “season pass” could save you hundreds of dollars on your medication.
Following a medical diagnosis, the cost of a long-term repeat prescription may appear to be an expensive necessity for many. Some diagnoses could result in you spending hundreds of pounds on medicine each year, at a cost of £9.35 per item.
Fortunately, the NHS has a prescription medication cost-cutting plan known as a “season pass.” Patients can use this plan to get their prescriptions at a fixed quarterly or annual cost.
In fact, if you pay for more than four prescription medications in a three-month period, purchasing one of these “passes” may be worthwhile.
This pass, also known as a Prepayment Certificate, allows patients to receive an unlimited number of prescribed NHS health and dental items over a three or twelve-month period.
For those who do not qualify for free prescriptions, these plans significantly reduce the cost of a long-term medical diagnosis. The three-month certificate is £30.25, and the 12-month plan is £108.10.
The 12-month plan, like the three-month “season pass,” becomes cost-effective even if you only purchase 12 prescription medications per year.
