Platinum Jubilee Celebrations to Carry on The Palace Party

Later, Diana Ross and George Ezra will headline a star-studded concert at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.

On Saturday evening, Prince Charles and Prince William will deliver speeches in tribute to the Queen at the Party at the Palace.

Members of the Royal Family are taking part in celebrations in Cardiff and Belfast today.

The Queen is not expected to attend the performance, which begins at 19:30 BST.

The Queen has had mobility issues in recent months, and the palace had warned that the monarch would consider which Jubilee events she could attend.

She had to cancel Friday’s event.

She will also miss the Derby meeting at Epsom on Saturday afternoon, instead watching it on TV from Windsor, according to Buckingham Palace. However, Princess Anne is at the racetrack. She was welcomed as part of a procession led by her husband and family.

Tonight’s concert, which will be broadcast live, will take place in front of Buckingham Palace, with an estimated crowd of 22,000, plus millions watching on television.

Alicia Keys, Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder, Hans Zimmer, Queen, and Adam Lambert are also on the bill.

Sir David Attenborough, tennis player Emma Raducanu, former footballer David Beckham, and comedian and writer Stephen Fry will all appear, as will a specially recorded performance by Sir David.
