Boris Johnson promises to get on with the job of Prime Minister.

Boris Johnson said in his first Commons appearance since surviving a vote of confidence in his leadership that he is determined to “get on” with his job.

During Prime Minister’s Questions, Labour MP Dame Angela Eagle told Mr Johnson he was despised and should resign.

However, the prime minister stated that his political career had “barely begun.”

In Monday’s vote, four in ten Tory MPs expressed dissatisfaction with Mr Johnson’s leadership.

The less-than-expected outcome came after several months of difficulties for the prime minister, who has faced ongoing criticism for parties held in Downing Street during the lockdown.

Following the vote of confidence, the Prime Minister is under pressure to cut taxes.

Boris Johnson could face another challenge.

Boris Johnson’s job is now in jeopardy.

Following the vote, the prime minister promised to “draw a line” under his recent difficulties and announce a comprehensive reform package to address crime, the NHS, and the rapidly rising cost of living.

And, during a raucous Prime Minister’s Questions, he reaffirmed his intention to stay in power.

Dame Angela began by asking the first question: “This week’s events have demonstrated how despised this prime minister is, and not just within his own party.

“Can the prime minister explain why 148 of his own backbenchers don’t trust him when his administration is too distracted by internal divisions to deal with the challenges we face?
