Ukrainian missiles hit a Russian ship carrying soldiers and weapons to Snake Island.
The information was released by Ukraine’s Armed Forces Strategic Communications Directorate, along with a video showing an apparent strike, as sources claimed ten sailors on the tug were missing and presumed dead.
According to reports, a Russian tugboat transporting soldiers and weapons to Snake Island was hit by Ukrainian missiles, killing ten people.
Kyiv claims it used two Harpoon missiles to attack the navy vessel in the Black Sea.
It is said to be the first time Ukraine’s armed forces have used Western-supplied rockets to attack a Russian ship.
According to Ukrainian sources, ten sailors on the tug were missing and presumed dead, and 23 were injured.
The crew number was assigned to 33. Russia has not responded to reports that the vessel was hit.
At 4 a.m., the vessel Vasyl Bekh was hit while transporting soldiers, weapons, and ammunition to the island.
Its Tor anti-air missile system was unable to stop the attack.
However, there was speculation that either a Brimstone missile supplied by the UK or a ship-based missile defense system was used.
The information was posted on the Telegram app by Ukraine’s Armed Forces Strategic Communications Directorate, along with a video of an apparent air strike.
