Maverick won’t give up generating money, according to Top Gun

Tom Cruise is poised to be named “president of movies” by both moviegoers and the film business. Additionally, the speed of such planes causes many spectators to whirl around and exclaim, “Wow, look at ’em go!”

But Cruise and his F-18 took Top Gun: Maverick to even greater heights this week, earning $900 million at the global box office, despite what appeared to be tough competition at the theatres.

In the United States, Top Gun has also made a respectable $474 million, and despite the fact that it doesn’t contain many Easter eggs or allusions to other movies, it appears that many people are viewing it more than once. It is just too many viewings, according to Paramount, that 16% of Top Gun’s audience has seen the film more than once, and 4% have seen it more than four times.

How many more times will Top Gun: Maverick be viewed? Well, if Hollywood’s main offerings are the sequel to Jurassic World and whatever the heck Lightyear is supposed to be, then definitely a few.
