A man struggling for his life in the hospital after being stabbed in the neck by a suspect.
A MAN is struggling for his life after allegedly being stabbed in the neck at a Newcastle hospital.
After the incident at St. Nicolas Hospital in Gosforth on Tuesday afternoon, a 42-year-old man was detained.
At around 12.20 p.m., police were dispatched to the site after receiving complaints of an attack.
Officers discovered the 40-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck and back.
He is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital.
The 42-year-old suspect was apprehended on the spot and is still being held by police.
The event has now been investigated by the police.
“Police in Northumbria,” stated a representative for the force.
“At around 12:20 p.m., officers responded to the location where a male had suffered neck and back injuries consistent with a bladed article.” A 42-year-old male was detained on the spot and is still being held by police.
“An inquiry has been begun, and inquiries are underway,” says the victim, who is 40 years old and in critical but stable condition.
