CEO of Golf Saudi Arabia allotted as a director of Newcastle United.
According to a listing on the government’s Companies House website, Al Sorour started the job on May 12.
He’s been spotted at Newcastle games with the club’s non-executive chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia contributed 80% of the funding to take over Newcastle in October 2021.
Al-Rumayyan, the governor of PIF, is registered as a director of Newcastle on Companies House, alongside minority owners Amanda Staveley, who led the consortium that bought the club, and Jamie Reuben.
PIF, whose chairman is Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is also supporting a new breakaway invitational golf series, which Greg Norman is overseeing.
