Residents urged to avoid drinking, cooking or brushing their teeth with tap water.
Residents in St Athan, Wales, have been warned that their water supply has failed to satisfy minimum criteria and is hence hazardous to drink.
People on the estate were advised that bottled water will be brought to their homes by supplier Ancala Water Services.
Residents who were “concerned” were advised not to use their water supply between 3 and 4 p.m. on Thursday.
However, due to a mix-up, they were forced to obtain the necessary goods from collection stations, which they only learned about via Facebook.
Locals claim that the problem will continue one to two days, although there has been no official update on the situation.
“When we’re confident that this precautionary action is no longer necessary, we’ll contact you again to let you know that you can use your water normally.” If you need any additional information, please call our hotline at 08451292293, and they will connect you with a member of our staff who can assist you.”
The firm apologized for the inconvenience and stated that they were working to rectify the problem.
However, one anxious woman claimed that everyone had been drinking tap water “all day” before the warning.
“We haven’t been told what’s wrong with the water since they are still investigating,” Holly Darch told Wales Online.
However, we only discovered the issue this afternoon.
