AUDI has unveiled new versions of its sporty RS4 and RS5 models.

For the Audi RS4 estate, two-door RS5 Coupe, and four-door RS5 Sportback, a new Competition Plus Package will add bespoke equipment to provide the ultimate version of these cars.

While the packs will be known as the Competition Package and Competition Package Plus in Germany, we’ll most likely just get the latter here.

For starters, the RS4 and RS5 will get new coilover suspension, which will allow them to sit 10mm lower to the ground.

Owners will be able to manually change it to sit another 10mm lower, making it a total of 20mm lower than a regular car.

Adjustable dampers, a greater spring rate, and firmer stabilizers are also included.

If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, this is the kind of thing race cars use to get around turns as quickly as possible.

However, Audi claims that long-distance comfort hasn’t been compromised, so you’ll be able to utilize these cars to get to work or drop the kids off at school.

Faster steering, unique Pirelli tyres built for road and track use, enhanced ceramic brakes with a new ABS tune for better stopping, and a speedier automatic transmission are also new for the Competition cars.

Despite the Audis’ reputation for all-wheel drive, the new pack will include a retune of the sports differential, which will transfer more power to the front wheels.

The RS4 and RS5 will share the same 450hp 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, but with the new pack, the RS4 will sprint from 0-62mph 0.2 seconds faster and the RS5 0.1 seconds faster.

The RS4 now takes 3.9 seconds to accelerate while the RS5 takes 3.8 seconds, although both cars now have a conventional peak speed of 180 mph.

Audi’s Competition pack adds some cosmetic delights to the mix, so it’s not all about the engineering below.

On the outside, that means 20-inch alloy wheels and a new sports exhaust system with black tailpipes for a more aggressive image.

These are finished to match the Audi and model emblems on the front and back.
