A desperate mother was forced to save her child.
The toddler was allegedly taken down a major road, causing his mother to track down the perpetrator and save her child.
According to police, a man approached the mother and son outside a store before taking the toddler and hauling him across the street.
On Tuesday, the man allegedly snatched the youngster from Top Class Shoe Repairs on Walton Vale Road in Liverpool and strolled off in the direction of Iceland, according to the mother.
Dashcam and CCTV recordings are now being sought by police.
The suspect is described as an Asian male in his early 30s, being roughly 5ft 5in tall. Police are requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with more information. The mother issued a strong warning on Facebook, which was seen by thousands of people in the area.
“We have initiated an inquiry into this incident to uncover the full circumstances,” Community Policing Inspector Sarah Rotherham said.
This happened during the day on a fairly busy road, and we’re asking anyone who saw it to contact us. “I also urge anyone who was in the area at the time to check their CCTV and dashcam footage for any footage that may have captured the incident. “I’d also like to reassure everyone that we take any reports of this nature very seriously.”
We’ll take action based on all information supplied.
