ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the suo moto case on the constitutional crisis case was deferred by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday till Tuesday noon.

The case was being heard by a five-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial.

After President Arif Alvi dissolved the national assembly (NA) on the suggestion of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday, the supreme court took notice of the political upheaval.

Earlier in the hearing, the Supreme Court denied a move to stay the ruling of NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on the no-confidence motion. CJP, on the other hand, had stated that a reasonable order would be given.

Farooq H Naek’s appeal was dismissed by the Supreme Court.
