Father handed daughter medications to snort, thinking it would be safer.
A court heard that a father provided his 15-year-old daughter illegal drugs in the notion that she would be “safer” taking them with him than with her pals.
After thinking that she would be better off snorting the drug at his house rather than on the streets, the divorcee, 45, shared his stash of amphetamine with the kid.
When the girl’s mother returned home from access trips to her ex-home husband’s in Farnworth, near Bolton, Greater Manchester, she found her daughter had “eyes like saucers.”
The electrician initially denied wrongdoing, but the kid told her teachers that he supplied her “speed” or “whizz” on a regular basis.
He would tell her where he kept the amphetamine around the home so she could readily access it, and he even set up a coffee table in his living room for her to snort lines from.
She also alleged that her father had urged her to manufacture ‘bombs’ out of cocaine and amphetamines that they could share. He admitted to providing her with amphetamine but denied providing her with cocaine.
“I was totally saddened when I found out and I was terrified I would lose my kid because her father was pulling the wool over her eyes,” the girl’s mother said in a statement.
I was ill with worry about her and irritated with myself for not stopping sooner. I don’t know how to express how I feel about him giving my daughter drugs; all I know is that I can’t believe it occurred.’
The father, who also has a teenage son and who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to prison after admitting to child abuse and having amphetamines at Bolton Crown Court in Greater Manchester.
However, after the girl’s mother stated that while her ex’s behavior was “very dumb,” imprisonment would have a “major impact” on their two children, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years.
The events occurred between March 2020 and April 2021, while the youngster was living with her mother, according to the court.
