Mum blasts ‘inhumane conditions’ at airport after being stranded with her 5-year-old son.

A mother claims she was stranded at Gatwick Airport with her five-year-old son for 22 hours after being kicked off a plane because it was overcrowded and left to fend for herself.

Charlie Day, 33, of Chelmsford, Essex, claims he was marched through security three times as a result of the repeated cancellations, and that at one point passengers were trapped in a waiting room without food, water, or toilet access due to the airport chaos.

She had arrived with her husband Lewis and their young son Ernie on Friday morning in preparation for their 2:30pm flight to Barcelona.

Charlie noticed her family’s boarding passes were missing a seat number while checking in.

Despite her concerns about the apparent boarding pass change, the well-traveled mother of one proceeded through security, only to discover later that the flight had been overbooked by 34 seats when she queued up to board.

The family was forced to march through security before rechecking in for a 9:45 p.m. flight later that evening.

After a seven-hour wait for the rescheduled flights, the gate didn’t open until after midnight.

Charlie, who owns Charlie Day Sales, claims there was no representative from Vueling to calm her fears about the flight.

She then paid £30 for an Uber to take her son to a £140 Premier Inn room so he could sleep for three hours while Lewis waited an hour for their luggage.
