The mother was left with a broken nose and black eyes while protecting her daughter.
Michelle Audo, 48, said she was punched several times and suffered a broken nose, two black eyes, and a concussion in Blue Springs, Missouri, US.
A mother suffered severe injuries after putting herself in danger to prevent a gang of girls from beating up her daughter.
Michelle Audo, 48, confronted the group of 14-year-olds after they showed up at her home in Blue Springs, Missouri, on May 14th.
The gang allegedly planned to fight Ms Audo’s 16-year-old daughter, but the protective mother intervened before they could do so.
According to Ms Audo, the girls arrived at the house “hyped up and ready to fight someone.”
During the terrifying incident, she claimed she was punched several times and suffered a broken nose, two black eyes, and a concussion.
When her eldest daughter and husband stepped in to help, the mother was able to escape the gang.
“I thought I’d just walk outside and tell them to leave, and they’d leave,” she told. “That did not occur.”
Police were called, but the group had fled by the time they arrived. Later, one of the teens boasted about the attack on Snapchat.
“Imagine letting ur mom get her a*s beat,” she allegedly wrote, and “Tell yo mom to get her a*s beat.”
Two of the teen suspects were charged with simple assault, according to police. Because of their age, their names have not been released. According to Jennifer Brady of the Blue Springs Missouri Police Department, they will face the charges in Juvenile Court.
“We’re waiting for the investigation to be finished before we file charges,” Brady explained.
“The girls were not arrested. So far, one is facing assault charges. It is unknown whether the other teen will face charges.”
According to a police report obtained by the Kansas City Star, Ms Audo stated that a blonde female “ended up on top of her and was continuing to strike her in the face with a closed fist,” while another girl was “on top of Ms Audo trying to punch her in the face.”
