FO ‘condemns’ the Indian advise that prevents students from pursuing higher education in Pakistan.

Pakistan blasted India’s University Grants Commission on Monday for urging its students not to come to Pakistan for higher study and demanded a “clarification” from the Indian government on the topic.

The Foreign Office statement follows a warning from the All India Council for Technical Education and the University Grants Commission of India that “Indian nationals or overseas Indian citizens who intended to take admissions in any Pakistani educational institute or degree programme would not be eligible for employment or higher education in India.”

However, it was noted that migrants and their children who had earned higher education in Pakistan would be eligible for Indian work if they were granted citizenship and security clearance.

Pakistan vehemently slammed the notification as “tyrannical tyranny.”

“It is regretful that the Government of India, driven by its incurable infatuation with Pakistan, is brazenly coercing students in order to prevent them from pursuing excellent education of their choice,” the FO stated.

It said that the notice’s contents revealed the BJP-RSS alliance’s profound ideological animus and chronic enmity for Pakistan.

“It is regrettable that the Indian government has resorted to such steps in order to foment hyper-nationalism in the country as part of its mission ‘Hindu Rashtra.'”

The FO statement also said that Pakistan had sought clarification from the Indian government regarding the notice. “Pakistan reserves the right to take appropriate measures in response to this openly discriminatory and inexplicable action by India,” it added.
