Sajjad Kishwar, an actor, died in Rawalpindi at the age of 89.
Sajjad Kishwar, a well-known television, cinema, and radio actor, died in Rawalpindi at the age of 89. He had been sick for some years. A son, two daughters, and grandkids survive him.
Mr Kishwar has been sick since his daughter died last year, according to his granddaughter Umme Aaman. “On Tuesday afternoon, he exhaled his final breath. “He had a number of ailments,” she explained.
His funeral prayers were given and he was put to rest in the Shah di Talian Graveyard near Committee Chowk. The funeral was attended by a big crowd.
Waqar Ahmed, Director of the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC), expressed sadness at Mr Kishwar’s death and said he played a vital role in the sector.
In 1967, Sajjad Kishwar debuted as an actor in the drama Raizgari on Pakistan Television Rawalpindi.
He appeared in 100 films and 1,000 television dramas during the course of his career.
The Pakistani government awarded him a Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, and Radio Pakistan honoured him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
