Cruel lawyer quits after a ‘crazy’ suggestion to remove a dog’s vocal cords.

An unnamed law enforcement official from Graham County, North Carolina, resigned after suggesting that Michael Eddings have his dog Leo’s vocal cords surgically removed to reduce noise complaints.

A lawyer resigned after it was revealed that he advised a man to have his dog’s vocal cords removed in order to stop noise complaints.

Debarking is a contentious surgical procedure that involves removing laryngeal tissue from a dog, and it is prohibited in the United Kingdom.

The practice is legal in the United States, but animal welfare experts strongly oppose it.

The unnamed assistant district attorney worked for Graham County.

Mr Eddings strongly opposed the idea, calling it “crazy” and “inhumane”.

The procedure necessitates the use of general anaesthesia, which puts the dog at risk of infection, scarring, and difficulty breathing.

After their means of expression is removed, the animal may experience emotional problems.

“The suggestion, whether made in jest or seriously, was inappropriate. I am unable to comment further because this is now a personnel matter.”

Ms Welch confirmed on Tuesday that the lawyer no longer works for the county, though it is unclear whether they were fired.

Ms Welch stated that she did not “condone, support, or approve” of the suggestion.

Following multiple noise complaints, the proposal was offered as a solution.
