I drove the ELECTRIC Citroen e-C4 and was blown away by the comfort but not the performance.
ARE YOU CONSIDERING GOING ELECTRIC?
If you are and don’t want to spend money trying to save the planet, this e-C4 could be the ticket.
Citroen’s first reasonably sized all-electric vehicle costs less than £30,000 and provides everything the vast majority of would-be EV buyers require to retire their petrol engine for good.
While its fussy melted looks are somewhat divisive, spend some time behind the wheel and I’m sure you’ll consider converting.
Its vital stats stack up nicely, with a perfect world range of 219 miles (allow for a bit less in the real world) and the ability to take a rapid 100kW full charge in about an hour (or seven hours from a 7kW home wallbox).
It isn’t as quick off the line as some EVs, but speed is cheap in the world of electric cars and also quite redundant in the family car sector.
The e-C4 has a top speed of 93 mph and a 0-62 mph time of nine seconds, but it always feels quick enough thanks to its near instant torque delivery.
Even after switching to Sport, the steering is light and precise enough that you won’t feel the need to test its handling limits.
